Stopping sample when you press another pad

Let's say i have a sample, that's already trimmed...but it runs into another sample if i press that sample pad..how can i get the sample to automatically stop by pressing tha other pad without using NOTE OFF on the first sample????

for instance...the first sample runs the full bar....but on the second bar....i only want it to run halfway and then have another sample come in???

In the program screen (shift 6), highlite the Overlap: field and press open window. A screen will come up that allows you to assign one pad to mute off the other. Just tap the pad you want to mute off the other, then type in the note number of the pad you want it to mute.
