i currnently have the 1.10 i believe and i'm trying to upgrade to version 1.20..but everytime i upload it onto the floppy and try to do it the mpc always says "unknown file" but i got it straight off the mpc site so i know its legit..this is very aggervating because i have about 20-25 sounds/samples on my floppy disc that i use all the time to make sequences but for some reason its not reading this certain disc or any others i place this file on, can anyone help me out?

What type of computer did you use to format the floppy and then copy the update file to it? If you used a Mac, they often put "finder" files on the floppy and that won't work. There can only be one file on the floppy - the update file - so make sure to get rid of any other files. This is why real men use Windows :P

Stop trying to load a zip file?!?

No reason to upgrade if you don't know what the upgrad
is for and what devices it's made for.

Go to 1.14 and stay there.

I contacted them and I'm talking to a technician via email but he's not helping too much

I've already tried to drives with the floppy they sent but both keep saying unknown file type with random symbols as the file name. Any idea what might be wrong?

After talking to the guy and using different floppy drives and different wire/ribbon cables he says its something with the motherboard/unit. Anything I can do???? Did I waste money?? I just bought this kit too

I ended up selling that mpc and getting another 2000xl in way better shape but I'm still having the same problem. I'm pretty sure they sent a bad one so I'm going to try with a diff one and ill let you know how it goes
