...can I use 250mb zip disks on my MPC 2000 ???

...Hello everyone out there ...can anyone tell me if or how I can use 250mb zip disks ...with my mighty fine MPC 2000 and an external Iomega Z250S zip drive ...thanks ...later ...Chris DVS

judging by the fact that it is a 250mb zip drive... what makes you think you can't??

...the drive just spits the 250mb disks out ...I've only just bought the zip drive ...I bought a 100mb disk and formatted and all was well ...but as I say the 250mb disks gets chucked out

...but how can it be when the 100mb disk worked fine ...and all the disks are new ...3 X 250mb disks are all doing the same thing

Your ZIP drive says 250MB in the front of the drive? because to me it looks like yours it is only 100MB capable, but if it says 250MB then something is wrong with your drive or your 3 new ZIP disks...

as you can see besides the front saying explicit it is a 250MB zip drive, the back of the 250MB drive it is curvy and the window to see the disk inside are also different

...it's a Z250S for sure ...it's a rounded shape, not square ...and it's written clear on the front and under

...and ...all the disks are new, unopened, and branded iomega ...so why don't the 250mb disks have the small reflective windows on the underside like the 100mb disks have

I am not sure, but I think the way the unit tells if the disk is 100 or 250 is that the 250 disk has a shiny reflector on it.. is that possible? check that the thing that does the detecting (maybe a light or something) is not damaged or dirty? I have no idea if that is the real way it can tell.. but it may be worth looking in to.
