HELP please mpc 2000 xl wont read my cf card

hey guys i need some help please.im a mpc 2000xl newbie.i just purchased a one with maxed out ram 8 outs and a cf card reader.the system is running 1.2 .i put some sounds on a 2 gb sandisk cf card,tryed to load them but its not reading it.am i doing anything wrong?please help me im anxious to start making beats thanks

What format are the sounds in?

What exactly do you see on the mpc screen when you try and load the sounds?
Be specific.

How did you format the cf?

Is the cf card one big 2gb card meaning not partitioned?

Partition it to 2 x 1gb partitions, 2kxl likes 1gb partitions/cf cards.

Why didn't you provide as much detail as you can from the get go?

the sounds are in wave format.i tryed to format the card using windows vista fat then loaded the samples onto the card loaded them on the mpc but still nothing.all i see are question marks.i tryed to format with the mpc and i get an error message.i dont know how to partition a cf card.
