How to turn off pad sample layering on 2000xl?

I recently picked up a 2000xl, I love it but there has been one thing that I can't seem to work out (I've looked through the manual / Internet and can't find anything!)

When you have a long sample on a pad and press it a few times the Sample layers up, can you change it so it cuts out the previous hit and starts the sample fresh?

press shift+6, drum1, params then change the voice overlap to mono or note off.
