Hooking 2kxl to the computer

I was wondering what I would need hardware and software wise to hook up my mpc 2kxl to my computer and record my beats. I have 8-outs by the way

Sound card and recording software. Do a search.

So is like the 8-outs just 1/4 inch outputs?

yes 8 outs gives you 8 1/4 inch outputs, have you ever looked behind your mpc??? anyway, i would get a good interface/soundcard like the digi 002 which has midi input and 8 inputs already. that way you can synchronize you sh!t and dump everything thru the 8 outs

What about putting each instrument in a one output inside of two...(i.e. you have a bass kick and you place it in channel one which would be A01 on the mixer in your MPC. When you press F2 for INDIV and select the output you want to use sometimes it's in 1/2 (stereo) or 1 (mono). How can you make all your channels mono?

shift ---> program ---->(highlight the sound)------->open window----->convert---> save the new mono R and L then assign one or the other to the pad to replace the existing stereo sound.
