Operating System Install Question!?

Hi,

I have just downloaded the 2000xl OS from www.akaipro.com/int/download/ for the first time. I unzipped it to disk and put it into my mpc... The manual says the os upgrades will be in either .EXE type or .SYS.......but when I unzipped the folder I only found .BIN type and .PDF.....

What do I do?

It's been awhile since I installed an OS.
I think the .bin is the operating system program. Just take the .pdf file off of the disk and load the .bin file into the MPC.

Yep. BIN file is the Operative System. Just load it.

but you shouldnt have to change anything when you unzip it. i didnt.

once you unzip it all the files you'll need should be right there. i may be wrong, but i dont think you have to change anything.

is your mpc NOT loading what you unzipped to disk? did you try it yet?

if its not loading, then maybe you do. and sorry for this nonsense post, but if you didnt try yet you should do that. when i unzipped it to my floppy it was fine. i didnt change anything. but im using the mpc2000.

Load the .BIN the same way you load a sound.
