loading new samples into my MPC 2000xl

hey, i just recieved an mpc 2000xl from a friend and have been playing around with it. it came with a cf card with some samples already on it, but i want to use my own sd card full of WAV file samples on the mpc. my problem is when i try loading my own samples from the sd card much like i was already able to do from the cf card i get "not ready" on the screen. i was just wondering if i was doing anything wrong and if anyone knows exactly how to go about loading these new WAV files from my sd card to my mpc. thanks in advance.

An MPC wont read an SD card. Transfer the SD card contents to your computer and then transfer the contents to the CF card. You may need to purchase some kind of USB mutli-card reader off ebay.

Actually the MPC2000XL does read SD cards if you have the MCD on your XL, I use CF but I also tried SDs and they work too
