Screen is blank

Hey, Hope you can help. Just received my first MPC. Turned it on 3o minutes ago and the screen is lit up but entirely blank. Any ideas what is happening here?
It is an 2000xl. Thank you in advance!!

Try adjusting the contrast before panicking.
I think it's shift and jogwheel.

Thank you very much, going to try that now. One sec........................... there isn't a change sadly. I tried rotating the jog for quite a long time. Would you have any other ideas perhaps?

rule out bad components -
take the memory out and try to boot it now.
could also try the drive.
and any other 'extras' plugged into it.

barring a bad component, i dont really know.

try booting it with an os update disk?

you are holding shift while rotating the jog wheel... right? also, let it sit turned off for a bit... then try again. It is possible components wiggled loose... dont touch the lcd ribbon cable, but disconnect and reconnect all connectors inside the unit... ram, etc...
