Akai MPC 2000 xl yellow buttons?

Hi, I want to buy an MPC 2000 xl, from this guy that has his with yellow buttons,(not pads), and he says that the buttons became yellow with time, is this true?
Hope you guys can clarify this for me.

if it's yellow from age (which I suppose is possible) you can tell by the look, but it wont be bright yellow like paint. it will be tinted plastic. Some plastics do yellow over time due to a fire retardant that is added to some plastics.

OR... maybe it's covered in tar from heavy cigarette/weed smoking?

You tried to link to an email attachment, that's not going to work.

You'll need to upload the photo to a hosted site and post the image location between the IMG tags.
