Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

No, that is not possible. There can only be one device on the IDE connection. IDE is not like SCSI, where you can chain more then one drive together.

But if you need a lot of storage, we have several high capacity storage options availble. You can get one of our CF-CARD drives to mount in the floppy slot and one of our CF-SSD units to mount inside the XL. Combined, that will give you 32GB of storage capacity - quite a bit! But if that isn't enough, we have a 1U rack unit that features a 25GB hard drive and a 16GB SSD for a total of 41GB of fast, reliable external storage.

Contact me directly by phone or email and we can discuss your storage needs.

IDE actually is like SCSI, in that you can chain more than one drive together, you can chain 2 drives together in a Master/Slave (or Device 0/Device 1) configuration, using a single cable with 3 connectors.

The MPC2000XL might not support it, but it is part of the IDE/ATA specs.
