Wav. problem

I have a problem when downloading wav files from the web, I have been downloading funny clips etc. and saving to floppy, checking for viruses and then trying to load them into my mpc2kxl, then I get a message saying wav. pcm error, what is a pcm file and why can't I load it after all it is a wav. file, is there many different kind of wav. files? Any help much appreciated.

tryin resavin or rendering them in a wave editor. theres a few free ones on the internet. wave surgeon is cool. they might be 24 bit or a diff wav format.

Wrong format or wav. Get some type of software audio converter and convert all your wav's to 16 bit, 44khz. That will work for sure.

Convert is the way to get around downloading different formats.
Change the downloaded samples to 44khz 16bit wav's and your golden after that.

Yes, it is simple. You might even find a converter that is a simple drag & drop window. If you use a wave editor it will be a case of opening the audio file in it
& then doing "save as" which should give you the options for other formats to save in.
