RAM Problem

Hi, first time poster, long time mpc enthusiast...anyhow I was wondering if you guys have any idea what may be the cause of my problem

Recently while I am booting up my mpc doesn't recognize my extra RAM and only says that I have like 1900K space available to program my pads when it should be more like 18564 or something like that. I can usually get it to see the RAM if I turn it on and off a few times but there has to be a better way.

I tried opening the sucker up and physically checking the RAM but it was nice and secure so I don't know what could be causing this. ANy help is appreciated.

It's most likely the ram itself. What kind of ram is it?

Reseat it, (you already tried that).
Clean the metal tips/edges of the RAM with an eraser.
Maybe the chips are of different access speeds and
don't wanna play nicely together. ie, 60 nanoseconds
per the manual.

Hey guys i'll try that out as soon as I get home today, thanks for the suggestions...also not quite sure what kinda RAM it is, they just threw it in when I bought the MPC at Guitar Center cause I bought a few other things at the time one of which was some KRK V8 monitors which I can't recommend highly enough if you got some cash to spend.

So what would be the best kind of RAM to get for my MPC

Again, yet another example of the power within the manuel:idea:...I keep mine in the bathroom where I get some of my best reading done. But then it always sucks when I have to walk to my bathroom everytime I want to refernce something.

does it matter if the ram has gold connectors or not??

I've got some guy on ebay trying to tell me that ram with gold connectors stores better sounding .wav files than regular ram. Bullshit!
