Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a problem.... when I cut up my own samples from say a turn table beat or a cd I like the samples I cut don't play right on the MPC. when I play these samples from my MPC drum pads, the sound is not consistantly the same, it seems the tone of the sample especially with a hi hat is changing every forth or fifth time I hit the pad. (yes I am playing the sample at "full level) Yet when I play a factory sample or a sample some one else cut up the sound of the sample is exactly the same every time i hit the drum pad. I don't understand what i could be doing to create this problem. My samples sound like I have a filter on them. Please help, if you like i could e-mail you a sample of what the problem sounds like.

i use soundforge to cut my samples and load them into the MPC through a zip disk.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!

That sounds really strange. let's see if someone know a quickfix for this. If you don't have a solution quick enough, you can mail me sample at [email protected]
I have soundforge too, so i if you tell me how you cut, and save your samples. maybe i can help.

Go into Step Edit and check that the pad velocity is same each hit, if it isn't.. that's weird. Maybe you're imagining the sound being smaller.
