mpc 2000 compatability

hey,

just purchased an MPC 2000 and just wanted to.ask a couple of questions regarding upgrare compatability.

am i right in thinking the individual output boards are compatible with the DPS12, S2000, s3000xl? are effects boards slso compatible??

The S2000 output boards are compatible with mpc2000 but the tray might be a little different. EB16 card is compatable too.

it's possible to take the screen out of the DPS12 and use it in the mpc2000, but I was pretty sure the DPS12 uses a different effect card than the EB16

I can't say for sure but it might fit in the 2000 classic anyway if you dont have the SMPTE card.

You have to cut the mounting bracket from the S2000/S3000XL 8-output expansion to get it to fit inside the MPC. Not a big deal if you have a saw and some time.

It is not difficult to replace the data cable though you would be better off getting 0.10 pins and adding an extension ribbon cable.

The LCD in the DPS12 can be used with the MPC 2000, MPC 2000XL, Z4 and Z8 samplers.

Cheers guys have a fully working s3000xl available for around $70 so gonna take the plunge..

Right lemme get this straight.. A Dps12 screen fits a mpc classic and z4... So a z4 screen fits an mpc classic??

They are the same LCD type. You may have to modify the cable to get it to work. I don't have a Z4 or Z8 in front of me now to look at.
