Dude, My Ish is tripping hard!

My ZIP drive or zip disks and my 2000xl must be really pissed at each other. I went and purchased another ZIP drive because I kept getting disk error messages when working with my Zip disk. This is even after I formatted and tried a brand new disk. Now I'm having the same problems with another drive. What in the hell could be going on? I scared as hell to try and load any of my other zip disk because I've already lost work on two of the disk because of this problem. Also, I started getting "FAT error" messages. That's when my shet started being erased off the disk.

I am totally lost on what to do next. Should I call Akai and see if it could be the XL itself? I'm damn near on lock down because of this mess.

Somebody holla back with some good info on how to try and get past this.

1. Format a zip on your computer via FAT/FAT16.
Your XL should be able to read that disk just fine.

2. Use ONLY 8 character filenames for everything.

3.Set this zip disk aside and use it ONLY for transfer
to/from pc.
