I'm using 1.14 with the same writer that I believe shipped with the MPCs.
I believe it also will work with 1.20 but have never tried. Didn't see the point.
If I want to transfer files to or from the computer, I just use my transfer zip disk.

Here's an interesting point.
While I can't get the Akai MCD to format a disk larger than 1G or larger I can take a large size disk that was formatted into partitions with 1.4 and use all the partitions on 1.20.
The disk just won't work well with Windows.
However the disk can then be formatted by 1.20 and give you the 1G and discard the extra.
If I don't format it first in 1.14 then 1.20 can't identify the larger size disk.

Hmmm, yeah, mine can recognise and format the larger cards as 1GB straight up in 1.20, I think.

I should find a card I have not used with the MPC, and test it to make sure, maybe I had formatted my cards with 1.14 before testing with 1.20?

Are you sure you can't format a larger card than 1GB with 1.20, without being formatted by 1.14 first?

That doesn't sound right to me, not the way I would expect it to work, I would think that it shouldn't matter to the format routine whether it is formatted previously in 1.14 or not.
