Replacing mpc2xl pad sensors.

I recently bought pad sensors but miserably failed.

1) the ribbon wasn't cut straight. I was using a pair of scissors.
2) I placed the sensors crookedly
3) I pulled the pad sensors out repeatedly, hoping that it would work if I just fixed its angle.

I'm about to waste another 60 bucks on another pad sensor. Are there any tips you can give me regarding on how to cut the ribbon and install it properly. I want to ask my fellow mpc users in oppose to watching that uninformative youtube video.

You really want to take time removing all glue and former adhesive on the metal.

Using the top left whole and bottom right whole as references help put the pad sheet in the right position.

One good thing to do is try to cut a straight line with the original pad sensors sheet back to back with the new one as a reference.

Before you purchase a new pad sensor sheet you can always go to the screen to see if each pad sensor is responding. I messed up a little with mine but it still picked up all 16
