Mpc2000 LCD question?

Im trying to figure out the solution to the problem of my mpc2000 screen. It doesn't have the lines that are a common problem. The text just faded away. It is still backlit. I opened it up and noticed it had an adjustment screw on the back of the screen. I turned it and the text showed up but flashing. Do I need a new screen or a converter?

No. I would boot up and it would just fade out on its own. Then it just was out all together, still lit but with no text.
