Is it true that they are gonna be producing new LCDs for the 2000XL and 2000?

Yes, I dont know about an arrival date though.

I certainly hope they do finally start shipping, but as far as announcing their efforts as a success they've jumped the gun multiple times over the last 3 years.

Well they have actually released two generations of displays.
The first gen was buggy and would garble and or freeze, I had to return mine for this reason.
Never tried the second gen so I don't know what the actual problem was but it was bad enough for them to pull them and stop production.

They were supposed to have gotten it right with no bugs or the sluggish screen response but they have yet to actually manifest and it's been a good minute.

For now I would say it best to say they won't ever show, that way if they do it's good but at least you aren't waiting for something that never happens.

MPCStuff is good about delivering goods but they are not in control of this situation.
