I know this must have been asked before but I am after some advice on the step edit function. I have had my MPC2KXL for around 4 months now and I am getting along nicely just making loops and sequences and throwing songs together. Just to point out also that I have read the manual well most bits of it and I do look back when I need to, But I am having trouble using step edit. I dont know if it is just the fact that the lay out with loads of numbers etc is putting me off.
I will try to explain:
when you go into step edit, do you start by entering your say bass drum hit on 01.01.00 then another on 01.02.00 then 01.03.00 and again on 01.04.00 if you wanted to make a house style track?
Then do you just keep going throughout the song in this method? I want to use it because I want to be able to use all functions and get the most out of it. It seems very long winded but I am sure it is worth it.
I am right any help on this one much appreciated, I did search but found nothing helpful.
Thanx in advance
