So I finally got my MPC! Question.

Had a MPC60 MK2 prior to my new 2kXL.

Just my MPC in the mail. LCD in strong and bright, all the buttons work, just need to replace the rotary encoder. Hopefully the part comes soon. Is there a way to bypass the data wheel until the part comes?

Couple of questions.

The case is pretty worn, so I was gonna sand it down and repaint it, or maybe just take it to a body shop and have them paint it cause I hate painting. Is there a good solution to get the labels for the buttons? Are they stickers or painted on there? That is my only concern really. I would really like to keep those labels.

Would appreciate any advice and info.

well if you sand it down (which really is the best way to do it) you would want to have the labels screen printed back on.

or you can go the style flip route with a sticker which works but isn't as good IMO.

Cool thank you. Screen printing, might have to look around for that. Probably somewhere in my city that does it.

Gonna paint the front panel too I think. Lightly sand it and hit is up with some flat black or dip it in that rubber coat stuff (just the outside).

once yer used to it, this is actually a really quick way to edit samples.

My goal for painting is really to clean up the casing. It's pretty worn. But, these are just wow! The latter image would probably something I would try to do. It's just getting the labels back.

Made a little beat yesterday on it. I like the OS. Really, can't wait to get that wheel fixed. Hoping the encoder is here in a day or two. Just upgraded the ram. Got a CF reader on the way and some more replacement parts (pads, buttons, knobs).
