Can't Find File??

Yes, that is a free utility, which seems designed to only create programs, not load and modify them.


This one is a $35 shareware utility, which 'might' let you load the program, rename the files, and save it, but I have not tried it, so can not confirm whether it will do what you want...

Other than that, not sure, other than trying to manually rename the sample files from within the MPC, so that their filenames match what is on the computer.

If naming them manually is what will resolve the issue, I don't mind doing that. That is renaming the individual samples outside of the program right?

Yes, in the Load screen, move the cursor to the View: or File: fields, and press the Open Window button, there is a Rename function in there, select a sample file and give it a go.

This is renaming the file on the disk, outside of the program, so if you can do that, and make them the correct names, the program should load with the samples correctly.

No idea if it will help, or if there is another way to deal with it.

load the program and take note of all the samples it cant find, including capitalisation.

now from within the mpc, load the samples one by one and rename them to the proper names - if you can figure that out.

re-save those renamed samples into the same folder.

i have never had much luck using a mac and an mpc 2kxl. i run windows in a virtual box and i only connect my mpc media to the windows box. mac leaves a lot of hidden files on the disk that can screw up the mpc...so i would want to rule that out of the equation.

there are quicker ways to do some of this stuff (create a dummy program with renamed samples and save entire program + samples at once, instead of one-by-one), and you should take care of making sure you've got backups and wont screw anything up, but you might be able to save your stuff.

Ok guys, Ive had the chance to sit down and play with this thing. You were right, when the disk connected with the computer the files were truncated. However, when in a program, go into the files and rename them exactly as the "Cant Be Found" files. Simple!
