quick question about the 8 outs on mpc

all i want to know is do you need the eight outs if u have a mixer? if so how much is the 8 outs and how hard is it to install?

U have a long way to go my friend if U don't know what a mixdown is.
It's a mixing of all your tracks played together, levels, panning and eq are all played with/tweaked to your liking and your songs needs.
Hence, a MIXDOWN of your tracks (8outs to mixer or 8outs to multi in pc/mac soundcard/interface)

I still don't get it. Let's say you have 64 sounds and 8 outs you assign 8 sounds to each out?

you can assign whatever sound you want to whatever output you want. you could have all 64 sounds on the one output if you wanted! but the most sensible thing to do would be to group similar sounds eg. all kick sounds on output 1, all hi hats on channel 2, snares on 3, piano sample on 4, etc..
that way, mixing the track is made a lot easier because you can mix each channel individually - like if you wanted to EQ just the piano sample then you can apply an EQ to channel 4 only on your mixer (if you had it set up like in my example before) - whereas if you didn't have the 8 outs then any changes you made to the mix afterwards would affect the whole track .. this is only when talking about using an external mixer though, not the mixer within the mpc itself.

so, basically, if u didnt have the eight outs you would have to eq one part at a time and save it in the computer sequence or something like that? so it would be much easier with the 8 outs. also, how would u save the mix? is the only way to do it is on a computer because it doesnt seem as if it would save the mix on a zip drive or anything like that, correct?

I've seen the IB-M208P sold as Ado II Mutec. What's the deal?[/b]

The IB-M208P is the actual AKAI 8-output card. You was Probably lookin' at the ADO II card from Mutec.
