MPC 2000 and 100MB ext. ZIP with parallel to SCSI adapter, w

I just purchased an external ZIP drive that was labelled SCSI by the ebay seller, unfortunately it arrived and it turned out to be a parallel drive
Would it work with my MPC 2000 classic if I use a parallel to SCSI adapter? The seller offered this to fix the issue, but would i be better off just getting a refund?

Send it back, get a replacement or a refund.

There were Zip Plus drives, which could work on either SCSI or parallel ports.
