Using 2k classic as MIDI controller

I"m trying to figure out if I can use my MPC to control Logic's MIDI instruments, using the MPC strictly as a MIDI controlled as I would with a keyboard. With my keyboard it's easy, I just turn it on and it's recognized and automatically controls whichever MIDI instruments I select. Can I do that with the MPC and control using the pads?

1) on the main screen set the track to MIDI (not DRUM). MIDI channel 1 is probably what you want
& 2) as soon as you get that working you will realize the MPC MIDI notes are crazy out of order. So learn how to fix that program settings. once you have that save as an APS on your boot disk. and the MIDI notes will always be in the right order
