Maybe this is a newbie question, but ive read manual over and over and pressed every possible button on mpc 2000 maybe im missing something but is it possible to speed up or slow down samples so they fit into a 4 bar beat (for example). Thanks in advance

you can manually do it in the paramaters screen [shift+6 then F1 then F2] which will change the sound permanently unless you change it back...or you can just apply the 16-levels to that particular sound, which is what I do almost all of the time...

there is no timestretch on the 2000.

roberto, just mess with "tune" in parameters. 16 levels probably wont make the sample line up perfect. just mess with the tuning till it fits perfect. peace

Another method is in TRIM, rather than PROGRAM like dj-evs suggested. Go into PARAMS (F4) & tune it there. You get a tempo reading to match up to your sequence on that page.
