I did read what you posted the first time.
I was simply telling you that there is another version, the FMX008, which does pop up for sale more often than the FMX008M, and that the FMX008 only works in the MPC2000, and not the MPC200XL which needs the FMX008M.
I was pointing that out, so that you don't make the mistake of buying the FMX008, thinking that it will work in your MPC2000XL.
I think it is worth it, and would buy an FMX008M if there were any available, but most others would not think it was worth it.
I sincerely appreciate your concern of my knowledge! Thank you for the heads up. I would definitely consider it, if the price was right. How much do you think the FMX008M would go for these days?? Definitely intrigued..but rare items usually hold a high price...
Funny fact I have an old MPC 2000 manual here too the guy threw in with the purchase of my XL..this manual states on page 21 (MPC 2000 Version 1.3 Addendum - Original Operators Manual printed in Japan April 25th 1997) and I would be happy to post pictures of this manual!
FLASH ROM
By install the optional flash ROM board FMX008M, you can save the date stored on the disk to a flash ROM. Saving the sound data on a flash ROM save RAM space. Also, if you save the operating system to a flash ROM, you can start the MPC 2000 without inserting a disk. When you are installing a flash ROM, please refer to the manual of the flash ROM.
So why does the FMX008M not work with the MPC 2000 ?? I don't own one but I have the manual for it and you really have me wondering!
