Hi fellow mpc users. I have owned an mpc2000xlfor about 2 months and intend on using it for drum beats on my drum and bass tracks. what I want to do now is use a pc based sequencer and use the internal mpc drum sampler to provide the noise, yes I know this is an expensive way of doing it but it has the 8 output board going out to a mixer, if anyone can aid me in what would be the best sequencing software and sound card to use I will have the ability to make some killer breaks!

It depends on what kind of computer your going to use. Some hardware/software configurations wont work with certain motherboards and processors. As far as the soundcard, do you need to record more then two tracks at a time? If so your going to need a higher end soundcard with multiple inputs. Last but not least, what are you willing to spend? Post back with a few answers to these questions and I'll be able to give you a better idea of what your options are.

In that case I'd recommend cakewalk, you can probably accomplish everything you need to do with one of the cheaper programs they offer since all you want to do is midi sequencing. I'd also recommend a serial/parallel midi interface as opposed to a usb interface, usb can be kind of finicky. Good luck!
