"Full Level"/Pads Question

By default, when you play a sample by hitting the pad as hard as you can with "Full Level" off, should it be as loud as it would be when you hit the pad with "Full Level" on?

I played a drum sample at "Full Level" and it was pretty loud, but I tried playing it again with the button off and it wasn’t as loud. Hitting the pad as hard as possible should playback the sample as if the "Full Level" button was on… correct?

I don’t know; someone help. Perhaps I bought a faulty MPC?

ok... here's what you do.

Go to the Step Edit screen and tap a pad as hard as you like, if the screen reads 127 in the Velocity field, then yea... thats full level.

you sure you hit it hard enough? those pads can take a beating (not too hard though haha)
