Need help with assigning chops

I have read the 2kxl manual, mpc-tutorials pdf and this forum but i haven't found solution for my problem.

How can i make my chops play so that while pad is on note off, it still leaves little tail behind it so that it won't cut out so fast? Something like release.

On the MPC2000XL, decay only works on 'note off' pads if the sample itself is looped (LOOP:ON). If you dont' want to loop the entire chop, check out the multisampling chapter in my book, where I describe a way of only looping a tiny fragment of dead space at the very end of the sample ('fudge looping').
