The lever on the MPC 2000XL is acting up....

The lever on my MPC is not acting right. I noticed it was sort of catching when I would mov eit up and down. Then today I tried to use it, and it would not respond at all. Is there anything that I can do to work this out. I took the panel off of it and everything seemed okay.

Has anyone had the same problem before?

Yes. I figured out that it's not totally messed up. It can still be fixed, I just need to know if anybody knows how I can get it fixed.

The slider sort of still works (its hard to explain). But I want to fix it. Can someone help me out here.

Call an akai service center they can give you details. faders tend to come assembled, at least the Remix 16 was like that, but there might be soldering involved.
