MPC 2000xl 8 Output Board missing the cable?!

Hey all,

I bought a 8 output board for the mpc 2000xl years and years ago from eBay (not advised). The board came with no IDE cable attached or any other cables. I had it in storage for a while but now I want to install it and get my recordings sounding crispy and stemmed all in line.

The issue I have is; where do I get the correct cable to connect the board inside the mpc? I had a look at the board and it doesn't seem to be your normal run of the mill IDE or am I incorrect? I also asked the guys over at MPCstuff and they told me that the cable is soldered to the board which was a bit confusing ...

I'd like to know because I ordered a couple zip drives so I will be installing one and I may aswell install the board while I'm at.

Hi! The ribbon cable for the 8 output board is a regular cable for a floppy drive.
And no, it's not soldered on the board. You can remove the top of the connector on the board, gently put the ribbon cable and put back the top of the connector.

And for the love of God... Make sure you insert the cable the correct way or you'll burn up a resistor on the main circuit board.

Just to mention, it's not a standard floppy cable. Those are 40-Pin, you need 34-Pin IDE Ribbon cable

Hey Star One. I don't know where you got this info, but I think it's wrong.
I've modified plenty of these board with floppy ribbon cables that I litteraly took from the floppy drive of old computers. Just sayin'
