Ok... Having scoured Google/this/other forums I have decided that my MPC issue isn't similar to anything I've yet found, and although I've seen hints and peices of related issues nothing has led to anything solving the problem I'm having. My point is, forgive me if this is a a problem that's been solved to death.
My problem is my mpc2000xl isn't recognizing the Zip drive that has been in it since I got it 4 years ago. (Yes I know I should get a card reader but I'm ok with what I have)
The events which led up to this involved upgrading the os to 2.0 then, after realizing it was acting buggy downgrading it back to 1.4. At this point it still recognized the Zip drive and I did some production for an hour or two and shut it down.
After powering up the next day it only gave me the "floppy" option. I took the Zip drive out and tested it in my computer and it worked. It's getting power when it's installed in the MPC so I know that's not the issue. It is designated as the master via the jumper pins.
I'm wondering, first, if I should reinstall os2.0 to remedy the Zip drive not being recognized and, second, if I attempt to do this with a floppy drive (being that my Zip drive is unrecognizable) are the power requirements met for the floppy drive with the power chord having been modified (cut) for the Zip drive? Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give me.
