THE ORIGIONAL MPC2000XL OS DISK

I WAS TRYING TO DOWNGRADE TO THE 1.4 OPERATING SYSTEM. IT DIDNT WORK AND NOW I HALF TO KEEP INSERTING THE 1.2 DISK EVERY TIME I TURN ON THE MACHINE("INSERT DISK). THE 1.2 WONT READ THE 1.4 SO I HALF TO WALK IT BACK UP FROM THE 1ST (UNLESS SOMEONE KNOWS ANOTHER WAY). I GOT INTO THIS TROUBLE BECAUSE AKAI TOLD ME I HAD TO DOWNGRADE THE O.S. TO FORMAT MY HARD DRIVE. THE AKAIPRO WEB SITE ONLY HAS 1.4 AND 1.2 ANY BODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE EARLIER O.S. DISK. "THE ORIGIONAL")

Could u chill with the caps well on my behalf it makes reading uncomfortable and plus its like your yelling. But anyways.

I saw this web site it has good info but I need the o.s it tallks about to download. The link is bad. I need to be able to down load the files they talk about. do you know a site for that. I already emailed akai waiting for response. they dont do weekends. If I had the original O.S disk I could walk it back up to 1.14.
P.S sorry about the caps but this is frustrating. CAn yo help a brother out?

I was at the site before thats where I got the 1.14 I tried to install. But the 1.2 wont read the 1.14 it comes up as ? in the type field (but i'll try again). You said you downgraded back to 1.4 right? Did you have this problem. It may come from running 1.2 with a floppy. Do you kow how I can keep from instaling the o.s. every time I boot up? I get a "mpc2000xl Boot Rom V1.00" when I boot up with the 1.4 in the floppy. Also do you know where I can get the Original. I may have curupted my saved boot info.

Wow thanks . This will help alot. I will save the info and give to any body else who needs it. This is a real Forum!
I found out that my other problem is my my system is showing "no flash rom" so i'll half to deal with that to stop loading the file every time. Maybee it's loose or was missing when I got it. ANy info on where it is in the mpc or how to fix or replace. THat's a bit off topic I'll search that seperately. my email is: [email protected] Thanks again hope I can return the favor.
