2k disk image

I have a mpc 2k the floppy didn't work so after seeing the Gotek USB floppy emulator drive on YouTube I ordered one.i installed it and formatted a USB stick immediately. Then loaded OS from zip drive (SCSI) and wanted to copy to USB stick. It was that moment I found out you can only copy boot software from floppy to put on the USB stick. Why they don't tell you that is beyond me I'm not gonna order a new floppy drive and disks to do this I wouldn't even know where to begin. Does anyone have a floppy disk image they are willing to share or I will compensate for it. Once I get this going I'm gonna start selling emulator boot flash drives that work and change the game.lol thank you all and the forum for just being here.

Your absolutely right that isn't changing the game, I guess I was just frustrated with the fact I couldn't get it to work and I was so stoked about installing one in my mpc. well I'm still in the same boat trying to get this working any tips or some pointing in the right direction?

i dont use these floppy disk emulators myself... but I did read something about the gotek owners using the HXC software to make floppy images (google the HxC floppy emulator) however I am not sure. I never took the plunge myself on an emulator because I have too much investment in real floppy disks.

usually the way these things work is you put the disk you want to image into a computer with an actual floppy drive (usb doesnt work i hear), and you image the disk using hxc software, then you put the image on the sd card.
these gotek ones are like cheap knockoffs though and i dont know if they work that smoothly. i know they can run the hxc software but i have 0 experience with that, so can't comment. only that i know in the past, i have made the disk images on a computer then transferred that to the emulator.

debauch, the hxc is so bad ass. if there is just one machine you have a lot of floppies for, it is totally a game changer. i have like 200 disks in my EPS at all times now.

hey is there an easy way on modern computers (i have a floppy disk USB drive i can use) to get existing mpc disks turned into images and put on a card? I have a lot of disks for a 2000, a 60, s series etc...

i do not know of a way - last i heard, it needed to be a non-usb drive.

i highly recommend anyone considering this to do their own homework - things might have changed since i did this years ago.

Awave Studio can read and/or write a huge number of file formats as indicated by the list below. The listed file extension is the one most commonly used - but usually the program can correctly determine the file format even if the file extension is wrong.

I used to use this alot for Ensoniq stuff back in the day. It's come a long way since then.

yeah I used to use Awave for file conversion back years ago.. and yeah omniflop/disk required a real floppy adapter drive. I always wanted to get a PCMCIA USB 1.0 adapter for this NEC versa laptop I have (in brand new condition with a battery that still gives a couple of hours of charge) so I could do transfers via omni flop.

omni-flop is what i used. the conversion software won't exactly work cause we're not trying to convert files, we're just imaging disks to bit-for-bit put back in the emulator.
