MPC storage help!

right now i have an internal scsi zip drive installed in my 2000xl. i think it was modded so the scsi port in back is now disabled, and is being used to operate my internal zip.

what i want to do is get an external scsi cdrom drive, connect it to the scsi port in the back of my mpc, while keeping an internal zip drive working at the same time. can i keep my internal scsi zip drive, or do i have to get an IDE zip drive?

better yet, is it possible to connect a cdrom drive AND a hard drive to the mpc, and have one of them installed internally into the mpc? if so, how can this be done? can i have 2 scsi devices connected to the mpc at the same time? (ie. 1 scsi cdrom drive, and 1 scsi hard drive)

yeh, you can have a hd and cdrom diasy chained off the rear scsi port, well that what i do. i also have an internal zip 250mb..

ok...is ur internal zip an IDE zip drive?

also, by daisy chain do u mean something like, the zip drive is connected to the mpc, and the cd drive is connected to the zip drive? once u do that, does the MPC recognize the cd drive and the zip drive as 2 separate devices?

I have an internal IDE 250 zip.
External SCSI CDRom and SCSI HD chained together.

You ONLY have that one SCSI connector on your MPC
so you chain up to 6 more SCSI devices by connecting the external devices to each other.

Sounds like you need to free up that SCSI connector inside your MPC and put it back in it's original position. Get an internal IDE zip and use that.
Use the SCSI in back of the MPC to connect you SCSI CDRom and SCSI HD.
