Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Is this possible? I'm into making glitch hop and would like the start of my triggers quantized to 16ths, 32nds, whatever, but not the note off.

Basically I use 'note off' on a lot of my samples and i'd like to keep the duration of the note the same as how i play it.

thanks, hope that makes sense.

I don't get what you're saying?

You can only quantize the triggering placement of an event.

ie. Exactly when it hits can be quantized not in the middle of the sounds as it is playing.

The end is not quantized.

you can also edit duration in step edit to really glitch things up.

Software sequencers have lots of quantize options, including the opposite of what you want, where the length of the notes are quantized but not their places. Quantize on the MPC is just for the note start point.

Like elmacaco says, go into step edit mode. You should even experiment with writing in step edit mode if you are wanting to sound really tight & robotic.
