Baselines!!

All i got is a MPC2000l, a turntable and cool edit. I need baselines! how does anyone else with this set up do it? what is a good keyboard to use, some that dont cost hundreds of dollars.

take a horn or whatever sample, use the 16 levels to adjust the tuning, turn the filter down real low and rock your bassline.

do what he says or take a simple sine wav, load it into your trim screen, go to LOOP mode and find a nice clean wav to loop and make sure there are no clips...then go into PARAMS and filter that baby down..thats how i do mine

The 'Bass Mekanik 5' CD. It's one of those bass CD's people use for car stereo competitions. With like 100 tracks of different BASS hz's. I just cut the frequency that I like up in Sound Forge, tweak it a bit, then load the one sample on the MPC. Then I use 16 levels on that b*tch. Boom Boom. Can't go wrong.

I have two synths, but I still use 16 Levels most often for bass lines.

get the RCA or what ever you have pluged in the input stick you thumb ova it till its buzzzzzing 'bizzzzz' sample that and filter the highs out good 4 bosting a samples base because it sorta real sub bass

Use a mic and make bass noises with your mouth. Actually, sample anything, and use those freq adjustments everyone's talking about. You have a better chance at making a bass line that no one has ever heard. It's all up to you...what you think sounds good n all....
