New MPC 2000xl, and need help

What up everyone, I just purchased an MPC 2 days ago and I made a track, but on all my sequences have different tempos, I was wondering how would I record this in Cubase if it's possible at all or do I need to redo my track and have all the sequences the same tempo. Any help will get me going in the right direction. Thanks

Do you want to record the actual Audio into Cubase? If so just hooked up into ya sound card. and record it there. This would be without syncing it.
If you wanted to sync it then I'm not sure how that would run being that u got different tempos on sequences.

U need to get the BMP of your sample figured out and keep it consistant with regards to when the drums kick in. Also remember to trunc/Slice it up clean

At present, your programming is stiff as hell bcause u dont have the correct BPM and possibly the wrong quantize. It aint a good idea to have a 86 bpm verse and 80 bpm chrous. You need to get that consistant

Another thing you could try is this,

Save your sequence(es) as .mid files and import into Cubase noting the tempo of each sequence. Set the tracks as there were in the MPC (output etc) and use SNAP to join the squences together in the correct order.

Use the Cubase tempo track to instuct the program to make tempo changes at the start of each sequence as recorded.

Now you can either edit your MPC track directly in Cubase, adding cubase tracks to the mix.

Or you can delete all the MPC tracks you just imported leaving just the tempo track you set up. Now you can load your original tracks back into the MPC and sync the MPC to Cubase using midi clock or timecode! You follow?

If done correctly your MPC (slave) will lock on to the tempo of the cubase (master) tempo track.

Do as Penfold said if you just want to record audio into Cubase as opposed to tempo data. Peace.

Thanks for the replies, I'll play with it more today and see if I can get it constant at the same tempo instead of 80 different ones. LOL

I'm gonna take one more look inside when I get time (it's all hooked up), I may then take you up on your kind offer! Still see lots of people having problems with the upgrade. So Im being cautious!!

Dont wanna waste your time too much, could be a problem with the drive and i've only got one to use (Z100).

I'm even considering selling up and moving up to a 4000.......if I could find the space to put it!
