How big is the sample your trying to re-sample?
"saying resampling sound 8 and then it aint doing nothing"
Give it time. Or maybe the 8 is the new re-sampled sound.
Again, give it time. Go have a couple of sandiwches or something.
Lampdog has the right idea! Check out the equipment in your studio and use the best tools for the job. Resampling uses MPC program memory, so if you have 32mb it should be quicker than if you only had the standard 2mb.
My PC has 256mb of RAM PLUS a Pentium 4 processor, so if speed is important, USE YOUR AUDIO EDITOR FOR SAMPLING/ RESAMPLING. The job becomes much easier when your zoomed sample is on a computer screen.
