2KXL OS upload through SCSI possible?

So I have a 2kXL {grey body} that I thought was finally ready to rock locating a CF card reader out of a end production model [blue] so I know its hot swappable will communicate/operate properly, but this thing is still on it original operating system and therefore can not read the card reader.
The Zip drive that was in it quit working one day, which is why it needed to be replaced.
I do not have a drive to import the required higher OS.
I am guessing I will now have to get a external zip drive to SCSI to import the higher OS?
or is there any other way to import the OS in through the SCSI?
Seriously blows, I feel like I'll never get this thing running.

Going to need external zip drive to load. OS. 1.20 or search ebay for IOMEGA INTERNAL ZIP DRIVE 3.5
