MPC 2000 record external MIDI and play on synth

Hi there,
I am new to the MPC – any help very much appreciated

I wonder if I can use my MPC 2000 to:
1. Record a midi sequence from my synth (Bass station2)
2. Use this to sequence my synth

If someone could explain how to do this I would be very grateful!
