found mpc2000 boots but button board problem?!!!

yep, i found this in the bins! mpc2000, has 32mb ram,
missing case screws, and front plastic panel, and the power switch is
missing, permanently 'on': (wdf, it even has the EB16 fx board in there)

i made a v1.72 bootdisk, it boots, has v1.00 OS eeprom, LCD nice
and bright. i can get to sequencer pages, but no sign of sampling
functions. it outputs the record click ok, no noise on output.

but the navigation buttons do not all work(up+?right? do). the
scroller on the jogwheel works, jog does nothing i can see.

most numerical buttons work. the transport buttons seems to
work. others do not. so: ...
i think the button board pcb is damaged. i reckon the sampler and
motherboard will be ok. any knowledge on this? what do you recommend?

for what that sampler's worth and what it would cost to fix it... i'd advise to sell the EB16 board and LCD screen [assuming it has no dead pixels] and make some $200 off that and put it towards another mpc.

(old post now) yep that's what i did, more or less. although i sort of regret selling the eb16 a bit. (but i don't really want another s3000xl)
