Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi guys,

I'm new here! have had an mpc2000 since april or something and since i got it I've had the following issue with note variation, i hope someone can shed some light as to what's going on.

As of now the slider doesn't work at all, nothing responds to its position. However, i have discovered that for some reason note variation is mapped to/affected by the aftertouch of pad12 on my mpc. As in by holding this pad down and changing the pressure i apply to it changes the note variation (e.g. higher pressure opens filter). This seems quite strange and i have no idea how this has happened. It's also a pretty impractical quirk, so i'd prefer to fix it. Has anyone had a similar problem?
Everything else on the mpc is functioning100% !

Thank you in advance!
