MPC2000 non XL Cant read ISO data discs or wav files?

I gave my boy a disc of all wav files, standard ISO burned on a OSX, he tries loading them but for some reason they dont work. Can the 2000 read these discs at all or is there a particular OS he needs, or is the 2000 just fuced up? Thanks.

Oh and I know the 2ooo cant read folders, so I just burned em straight unarranged on the disc.

Nope that sounds like standard behaviour of an mpc2000 classic. It can not read iso formatted cdroms. the faq in the newbie forum has a link to a site that contains all the info needed to create AKAI formatted cdroms.

I saw your link but I could have swore i read that the 2000 can read ISO discs with the right OS on this forum before.

Yo pt3r, i have no idea what that webpage is talking about, can you break it down just for the 2000 - or is that to much to ask?

Basically it comes down to this: You need to have the data that you want on the CDROM on a akai formatted harddisk (i.e. an external scsi harddisk you saved your samples on.) This harddisk must be connected to a computer with a scsi port (seesm logic since it's a scsi cdrom ). With a program like disk2file you can now create a raw image of the harddisk. This file you burn onto a cdrom with your prefered burning software. The result is a cdrom that contains akai formatted data instead of the standard ISO9960 format that can be read by the mpc2000xl.
