Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi peeps, I've got a couple 2000xls I've been getting fixed up.
One was OS v1.0 and successfully updated to v1.20 with an eprom.

Second machine was OS v1.10 but the machine is not seeing the recovery eprom when trying to update flash rom on save menu.

I've got three spare old floppy drives, all won't work with the machine (read/write errors - assume dead)
I've got a BlueScsi device here but not the relevant adapter to run it. (Thinking of ordering now)

My question is, I've got a flashfloppy GOTEK I can pull from another machine, but does anyone have a disk image file of the actual floppy for updating OS to 1.14 or 1.2 ?

I can see loads of resources for BIN files, but to my understanding, I need to mount the BIN onto a HFE format for the 2000xl to read it. Anyone had experience with this? Appreciate any pointers before wasting more money and time on stuff.

The version of the flash on your XL doesn't have any bearing on whether the recovery ROM will work.

If the XL was not detecting the recovery ROM then you should check to ensure that you're actually booting off the recovery ROM in the first place.

You are right that you will need to download an .hfe file with the OS ROM on it. With that being said, you should figure out why the recovery ROM is not detecting on that XL mainboard you have in front of you.

As long as you have the correct dip pins set, it would immediately show that you're booting off of the recovery ROM and not the on board flash.
