Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By heemz44 Mon Apr 20, 2009 6:50 pm
I just bought a MPC 2000xl off ebay. Everything works fine except when I try to use the jog wheel.

When I try to change values or settings by using the jog wheel, I spin the wheel where my finger fits into the little groove. (The way most people would). THIS DOES NOT WORK! It only works when I pull the wheel towards me and turn it very slowly. You can only imagine how annoying and time consuming this is.

Is there a way to fix this problem without actually replacing the encoder?

Thanks

sounds weird..the encoder doesnt care where you spin the jog wheel from..its only purpose is to read you spinning it..

yet again..might be something spooky, i'd try opening it up and just look at the solder joints..or make sure the jog wheel is on there nice and tight..

if that dont work, you may need to replace it

Do a search here,I had the same problem about 6 months ago, some great feedback and resources, paid 15.00 for the part, went to a tech thats experienced in soldering,he charged me 10.00 to take the old one off and replace, took him 10 minutes,I opened the machine for him.
