Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a Live 2 and I really underutilize its feature set, and the new one looks like more of the same. Got me thinking about looking to the past rather than the future.

Today I chop samples and sequence them from an Oxi One or from a DAW. This is how I use Live 2:

1. Record a passage from a song. 2 bars, 4 bars, etc.
2. I trim that recording to be on the nose 2 or 4 bars or whatever.
3. I tell the MPC how many beats my sample is so I can detect/set the BPM.
4. I pitch up or down, I speed up or slow down the sample as I see fit for what I'm trying to accomplish
5. I chop it up in quarter notes, 8th notes, etc.
6. When chopping I normally leave the setting on that ties the end of one chop to the start of the next

I jam and program from there.

Is this a workflow that the 2000 can easily reproduce?

Thanks!
