trigger, gate, drum??

This may be a question suited for the newbie forum, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the way the pads play sounds. By this Im refering to gate v. trigger v. drum. As u know, the mpc plays sounds gate style meaning it plays from begining to end once you tap the pad, and if you hit it twice real fast the first one keeps on going till it finishes and the second plays over it. Is there a way to change it so the sound stops and starts over from the beginning every time you hit it? I hope i explained that well enough. much appreciated... peace.

go into program, in the bottom left corner, change the POLY to MONO or NOTE OFF

POLY = sound over laps when tapped

MONO = sound starts over when tapped

NOTE OFF = sound plays when pad is held down, cuts off when pad is unpressed
